Permanently temporary

As you all know, Keilecafe is a temporary project. In 2017, we started Keilecafe as a cultural experiment that was meant to last two years. We poured everything we had into this project, believing we could create a place where like-minded people would come together to enjoy good food, summer, music, and cultural events. A place we ourselves missed and where we could experiment—growing by staying small, changing to stay the same.

At Keile, we’ve made countless friends. We’ve seen people go on their first date and later become parents together. Event organizations found their first home here. Artists showcased their first work, and numerous DJs played their first sets. We’ve experienced amazing hot summer nights and extreme pouring rain.

We never know for sure if we will be here next season, and from a commercial standpoint, this project has always been challenging for many reasons. Nevertheless, that has never held us back, because we are still in this for the same reasons as when we started.

But here we are—six years later, still going strong, and chances are we’ll be around for a while (yay!). Since our place was originally built to last only two years, we now need to make some serious investments to keep operating. That’s why we’ve launched this sort-of crowdfunding.
